Midwest Medical Transport Company was founded in 1987 in Columbus, Nebraska. The company’s primary focus was inter-facility ambulance transportation. MMTC started expanding in Nebraska in 2000 and is now in 14 locations across the state. In 2010, a medical helicopter was added and Midwest MedAir was created.
In February 2015, Midwest Medical Transport Company was sold to private equity partners and Jeff Shullaw was appointed CEO. Jeff Shullaw began working for the company in 2000 and has held multiple titles throughout his tenure. Jeff’s vision for the company when he took over was growth and culture. As such, the company has grown from a small Nebraska based company to a multi-state operation with 30+ ground ambulance stations located in 8 states, 100+ ambulances, 40+ wheelchair vans, and 3 medical helicopters. Jeff’s commitment to growth has not wavered and looks to continue the growth through M&A as well as organic growth into the future.

Jeff Shullaw, CEO
Jeff has played an instrumental role in the expansion of medical transportation services across the state of Nebraska. He is a Nebraska native and served in the United States Navy before pursuing a career in emergency medical services. Within MMTC, Jeff has worked his way up and gained valued experience in multiple positions as driver, EMT, paramedic, area manager, regional manager, general manager and now CEO. He also has three children, Matt, Tyler, and Kayla. Kayla also works for MMTC as an EMT at the Omaha Station.
Tim Hoffman, CFO
Tim joined the company in 2015 with more than 20+ years of leadership experience in a variety of industries. He has served as a Chief Accounting Officer for a mid-sized NASDAQ company and as a CFO for a select set of diversified businesses. He focuses of prioritization, teamwork, and results in everything he does. His extensive experience in SEC reporting, SOX, mergers and acquisitions, systems and procedures analysis, capital financing, financial projections, modeling and core metrics, and KPI reporting make him an invaluable asset to the organization.
Robyne Beck, Communications Systems Director
Robyne is responsible for maintaining the company’s dispatch communications center, which is headquartered in Omaha, Nebraska. She oversees the day-to-day operations throughout the company. Her advanced training includes PHTLS, AMLS, ACLS, PALS, ATT, EVOC, Balloon Pump Counter Pulsation Therapy, Certified Flight Communication Specialist and Emergency Medical Dispatcher.
Nichole Holles, Director of Human Resources
Nikki Holles joined Midwest Medical Transport in February 2018. Nikki holds a Professional in Human Resources (PHR) Certification as well as her SHRM – CP (Certified Professional) Certification. Nikki has over 20 years’ experience in Human Resources including recruiting, employee relations, employee development, policy and regulatory compliance, payroll and benefits administration. This also includes over 7 years in executive leadership roles managing full-charge HR Departments and all the associated functions. Nikki holds her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of South Dakota and has led several local and national seminars on topics such as Organizational Development, Emotional Intelligence and HR and Benefit law.
Eddie Lance, Information Technology Director
Eddie joined Midwest Medical Transport Company in October of 2013. He has combined his advanced knowledge of technologies (current and past) with superior business acumen to forge a successful IT career spanning over two decades. In his current position as IT Director, he leads the team responsible for developing and maintaining software, websites servers and workstations. His department’s initiatives have led to significant cost reduction for the company. A natural problem solver, Eddie enjoys the challenges that come with working across many levels of an organization, building strong and reliable relationships with customers and fellow personnel.
Geoff Sager, Fleet Director
Geoff joined the company in November of 2015 as the Fleet Director. Geoff brings more than 25 years of operations, sales and general management experience to the table, encompassing fleet / logistics management, budget management and development, contract negotiations, sales and service management as well as P&L accountability. Hailing from the Chicago area, Geoff and his family moved to the Omaha metro area in 2009.
Richard Lowrance, Director of Operations
Richard C. Lowrance, born in Orlando, FL. Joined the US Army after graduation from High School in 1978, 2 years later he attended US Army Flight School. In 1986 he started flying EMS and that was my passion. He has held the following positions in his aviation career – 20 years as a Director of Operations, 13 years as a Chief Pilot. Worked for Bell Helicopters as a Sr. Flight Instructor. Owned and operated a Helicopter Charter Service in Chicago, IL. He has been involved with Midwest MedAir since its inception in 2010. He took a 5 year break and operated a Medical Helicopter in Saudi Arabia in support of the Saudi Red Crescent (Red Cross). After returning from Saudi Arabia he became a FAA Rotorcraft Safety Inspector. In November 2017 he rejoined Midwest MedAir as their Director of Operations.
He has been married going on 40 years this November to my sweetheart he met in US Army Basic Training, now they have 4 grown children and 4 beautiful grandchildren.
Matthew Travers, Business Development Director
Matt joined Midwest Medical Transport Company in May 2015 and is the Business Development Director for the eastern half of the company. Prior to that, Matt worked in the medical sales field for a vaccine company for over 8 years. He earned his Finance degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, in which he is an avid Husker fan! Matt grew up in Columbus, NE and currently lives in Omaha with his wife, Brittany, and son, Hudson.
Sean DeLancey, Business Development Director
Sean joined the company in May of 2013 as an EMT for the Lincoln Station. Soon after joining the company he was promoted to Business Development Manager in September of 2013, and was again promoted in March of 2015 to Business Development Director. Prior to joining Midwest, Sean began his career in EMS as a medic in the Nebraska Army National Guard, his service included overseas tours to Iraq and Afghanistan. Sean also worked at Bryan Health in Lincoln, NE as a Cardiac Tech. He graduated from the University of Nebraska in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. His focus on the expansion of the company has been an essential part of company’s growth plan moving forward.
