Granting his wish

Last Saturday it was a skybox. On Wednesday, the entire sky was the limit for Grant Brimmerman.

The 16-year-old Fremont boy, who has muscular dystrophy, took a flight in Midwest Medical Transport Co.’s Husker helicopter. Originally, he was to have taken the flight last Friday but weather postponed it.

Grant spent an hour flying over Fremont and the area with his mother, Barb, pointing out his house and taking pictures. Kim Wolfe, who owns the helicopter, gave Grant the bird’s-eye view of the city. Wolfe is the president of Midwest Medical.

Wednesday’s flight capped of a Make-A-Wish donation from Midwest Medical. It provided dinner and skybox tickets to last Saturday’s Nebraska-New Mexico State game at Memorial Stadium.

Both Grant and his mother said they enjoyed the flight.  Grant spent an hour flying over Fremont and around the area along with his mom Barb on Wednesday evening. Grant said he had an awesome time on the trip. (Matt Gade/Fremont Tribune)
