Midwest Medical Transport Company in Grand Island has three ambulances that are specially equipped and designed for relocating patients between facilities with continuous medical monitoring to ensure their safety. Midwest Medical employ the best teams in the industry. Quality care is always a top priority. Station manager is Jeff Shullaw. All Paramedics are ACLS certified. Our staff also includes paramedics trained in AMLS, PHTLS and PALS. Qualified EMT’s, R.N.’s, Paramedics and Critical Care Paramedics are on staff. In addition, the Grand Island station has Paramedics qualified in certification of CPR and ACLS. BASIC LIFE SUPPORT: BLS is preventative in nature. BLS appropriate for patients needing minimal external life support, but in need of monitoring or potential care in route. Ambulance care involved in the transport of patients requiring BLS must have both the equipment and personnel on board capable of handling and treating a medical emergency. ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT: Ambulance care suited to transporting ALS patients requires equipment and personnel necessary to provide BLS functions as well as the capability to perform cardiac defibrillation, control dysrythmias, administer drugs and establish and maintain respiratory airways. In addition, medical personnel on board the ambulance must be capable of providing care for the condition causing the need for transport. Patients requiring ALS care are typically suffering from cardiac failure, trauma or burns, as well as a variety of other conditions. In addition to these standard medications, the ambulance medical team is authorized by the Medical Director of Saint Francis Medical Center prior to transport to administer current ongoing medications to patients. Non-standard medications are typically supplied by the sending facility. . |
