Midwest Medical Transport
partners with the area hospitals to ensure special needs are
met including adding specific respiratory protocols and
equipment. In conjunction with the utilization of
ventilators, assisting with apneic patients, Rapid Sequence
Induction is utilized for the definitive care of patient
airways.
As the medical transport need has increased and
relationships with area hospitals are formed, Midwest
Medical has been and will continue to be proactive in
revising and improving routes and response times to major
medical centers making ground transport as fast, or faster
than fixed wing aircraft, providing patients in the area the
best care available at a lower cost.
In order to meet the special needs of routinely long
transport times Midwest has written and adopted protocols
providing for the highest level of patient care and comfort.
These protocols, used across the state, allow the use of
specialized medical equipment including and Impact Transport
Ventilator, Bi-PAP capabilities, fetal monitoring and three
way infusion pumps, as well as the used of advanced
medications recommended by the American Heart Association
such as Cardizem and Amiodarone.
